The commissions, committees, councils and trusts in the column to the left are the city entities that will review the Proposed Lake Hefner Recreation Master Plan over the next two months.  My understanding of the upcoming process follows.  If I am way off base please don't hesitate to throw me a lifeline!

The Plan will likely be read by the staff members of these groups, synopsized for easy digestion (it's 125 pages long for heaven's sake), and presented, with commentary, to the group members.  They will probably discuss the plan in their scheduled meetings, listen to any citizen comments, then pass it on to the next group with their impressions, perhaps some revisions and hopefully with a recommendation for approval.

No one understands this Plan as well as the people who have helped forge it these last two years.  I'm sure Lanc Gross will be at these meetings in his official capacity to answer questions and offer insight to the committee members, but he is not in a position to express the "straight from the heart" emotions that you, the unnamed authors, have poured into this document.  You, the citizens of Oklahoma City, have sown and birthed this concept now let's help it take its first breaths.  Attend these meetings.  Speak up and let the city fathers know that we are behind this Plan and are willing to do what is necessary to achieve the Plan's implementation!

I will check and verify dates and times for the meetings and keep them posted on this website.  I will attempt to find out which meetings have open comment periods and which require a speaker to be on the agenda.  Thanks for your help.
