FRIENDS of LAKE HEFNER

         THE PETITION TO ENCOURAGE OUR CITY OFFICIALS TO SAVE LAKE HEFNER

We wish to encourage the Oklahoma City Water and Waste Water Utilities Trust and the Oklahoma City Council to work with the Friends of Lake Hefner and the Citizens of Oklahoma City toward an acceptable Lake Hefner Recreation Plan that will insure that the Lake Hefner Reservation is used for it's intended purpose, recreation for the people of Oklahoma City.  We do not advocate selling or leasing the land to commercial ventures or even to non profit organizations that will unnecessarily restrict access to the properties or cause them to lie fallow for extended portions of each year.
